Our First Trip to Mt Lakes Resort

Our Trip to Mountain Lakes Resort.
For a number of  years Robin and I have known of Mountain Lakes
in Lytle Creek. When we were younger it was called Lloyd's Lakes.
It was bought in 1980 and converted to a membership resort. Back in
May we went to the Yucaipa Iris Festival.  While there we walking
around we came across the Mountain Lakes Resorts booth. We
started talking to them and guess what??? We won a two day three
night and 90 minute sales pitch!!
We decided  to go in late June and here's a picture of one of
the three lakes you see as you drive in the main gate.
Here's a map of the entire resort. Besides the three lakes there
are three pools, general store, adult rec hall, kids arcade, miniature
golf course, horseshoe pits, paddle boats, 800 plus space and a
large number of cabins.

Here's our free camping spot #666. Lot's of trees and fairly quite for
a fairly busy weekend. All the spaces are first come first serve.
There were a number of open spaces we just looked for a fairly level one.

The space to the right was empty until Saturday, when a large motor home pulled in.

This was a very pleasant sign to see after running into some very rude campers in the last state beach we stayed at. The have a number of very fair rules and the main one is that they do back ground checks on everyone that comes in the resort! Any major violations could cost lose of your membership.

Our Trip to San Clemente State Beach.

All loaded up and ready for a Road Trip!

Here's our spot at San Clemente State Beach!

Not to crowed on the beach.

A few more people and a stuck Life Guard truck!

That's about a third of the climb!

The tunnel under the railroad tracks next to the beach.

Half way up the path to the camp grounds. 200 ft rise over a 600 ft distance.
Each step is approximately 1 ft raise in height!

From the San Clemente Pier looking back at San Clemente.

Looking south from the SC Pier toward our campgrounds!

A person Paddle Boarding way out from the end of the Pier with a small boat further out.

Robin having a good time on the Pier.
(Cool, smelly and boring!!!)
